May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and Castle Law Office wants to remind the community to #ShareTheRoad as we head into the 2019 riding season. In 2014, motorcycle accidents contributed to 88 deaths in Missouri and 46 deaths in Kansas. It is important that we listen to, and respect the advice of those who are most affected by these accidents as they often encourage riders to wear more protective gear and urge others to pay more attention when behind the wheel. We took a look at some of the most common causes of accidents to motorcycle riders, and shared some insight to help minimize the number of accidents to motorcyclists in our community.

The three most common factors that contribute to motorcycle accidents in our nation are distracted driving, speeding, and intoxication. Fortunately, all of these can be avoided by practicing safe driving habits. Giving yourself more space on the road, following the law, and reducing the number of distractions can allow you to be more aware of your surroundings, and can increase the amount of time you have to react.
