No; not forever. Filing for bankruptcy does affect your credit, but only for a certain amount of time. It also depends on the type of bankruptcy. For example, Chapter 7 bankruptcy stays on your credit for ten years. If you file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy; however, it stays on your credit for seven years.
