Happy ending to what could have been a tragic death. A lady fell asleep at the wheel and drove into Olathe Lake. Luckily, 2 teens passing by heard her screams and rescued her.

Driving while drowsy is extremely dangerous. Help us raise awareness and help keep our roads safe, KC.

According to the National Sleep Foundation, about 33% of adults have fallen asleep at the wheel. Drowsy driving can effect your body similar to drunk driving. In fact, 24 hours without sleep is like driving with a BAC of .10, which is more than the legal limit.

"Both drowsy driving and drunk driving make it hard to pay attention to the road." One of the differences, though, is that drunk drivers usually drive slow and are slow to react but a drowsy driver may fall asleep while driving fast so not react at all.
